Events and Achievements

From the inception day till date, the school has organized and participated in a number of events. To begin with………..


Dunes International School was the culmination of the long-held dream of our founders. Dreams do come true ………

And this is what happened to us on 3rd of February 2011.

The function was inaugurated by Dr. Kiran Bedi, who has represented India at the United Nations, and in International Forums on Crime Prevention, Drug Abuse, Police and Prison reforms and Women’s Issues.

Among the dignitaries, who graced the occasion were, Members of the Advisory Board, Board of Directors, Management Committee Members, The other distinguished guests and attendees included Mrs. Anjum Malik, co-founder and managing director of Al Hambra US Chamber of Commerce, Austin Texas,  Principal of Indian International School, Dammam, Principal of DPS, Riyadh, and our proud parents. The ceremony was hosted by our esteemed Principal Mr. Dhamendar Manon and our very kind and respected Head Mistress Mrs. Supriya Kher.



Grand Book Fair at Dunes International School Ground

Getting children to read is one of the primary goals of schools, community education organizations, and parent groups, and one of the most popular ways of doing that is the book fair. On February17th, 2011, Dunes International School hosted the event on its premises.  It was a day out shopping for books for everyone and children from across the region. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Amjad Khan, Dir. Finance and Operations Dunes International School.



Investiture Ceremony

In a vibrant ceremony on May 11th, 2011, a perfect body was sworn in. The ceremony commenced with the arrival of Chief Guest, Dr. Akira Suzuki, a Japanese chemist who was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2010 together with Richard. F. Heck and Ei-ichi Negishi . As per the custom, the Principal administered the oath; accordingly, the captains took oath to discharge their duties honestly and impartially, lead in the right way and uphold the honor and dignity of the school. The oath-taking was followed by the pinning of the badges.                                                       



Cultural night with Mohammed Vakil

DUNES International School organized a cultural evening on December28th, 2011, that was attended by a large number of parents, teachers, poets and prominent personalities associated with local businesses, schools, universities and colleges.

The star of the evening was award- winning singer from India Mohammed Vakil, who regaled the invitees with popular Bollywood numbers and ghazals.


Annual Sports meet.

The DUNES International School held its Annual Sports Day on December 28th, 2011, in the school premises, with a view to inculcate team building, cooperation and leadership. This was perhaps the most important event organized by the school, and all the students and staff come together to make it a success.

A series of displays not only showcased the agility and strength of the energetic students but also added a dash of color to the massive school ground. The athletics events which were interspersed with the displays set the tracks blazing and the spectators cheering the athletes.

Prizes were distributed by the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony that evoked the competitive spirit among the four Houses.


Annual Day

The very first Annual day program of Dunes International School was held on February 17, 2012, in the school auditorium. The event was organized by the school students, teaching and non teaching staff supported by the school management.Mr. Kabir Bedi, an internationally acclaimed Indian actor graced the occasion as the chief guest.


A moment of pride for all

It was a moment of great honor and pride for the DUNES family when their young budding players won laurels in Interschool football match held at Euro village by Peeves Group of School on 25th and 26th May 2011.The school bagged third place in their maiden participation at the Interschool level.

Apart from this the school had organized Interschool Debate Competition in its own premises on November 28th 2011.The school won 2nd prize. 



Another feather in Dunes cap

Dunes school is proud to congratulate Vandan Ramakrishnan, a student of class 7 who had participated in an YLP (Youth Leadership Program) Finale organized by the Toastmasters Club ICAB affiliated to ICAI Bahrain. He has won 2nd price in the International speech competition (Topic: What Changed the world, Science) and 3rd Prize in the Essay Writing competition (Topic: Science Centre) which has been published in the Daily Tribune.

It’s a proud moment for all the members at DUNES. We wish all the students of DUNES to continuously succeed and earn fame in all walks of their lives.
